Least Count, online
If you grew up calling "show" with the lowest hand, you already know how Claims works. It plays like Least Count, online with friends or with anyone, free in your browser. 2 to 7 players, no download and no sign-up to try it.
What you already know
- The lowest hand wins the round.
- Each turn you throw a card, then pick one up: from the deck, or the card the last player threw.
- As at many Least Count tables, a card is turned up after the deal and every card of its rank counts 0 that round.
- Call the round when you think you are lowest. If someone is at or below you, it costs you.
- Points add up over rounds; you want to stay low.
What is different in Claims
| Least Count | Claims | |
|---|---|---|
| Cards dealt | 7 | 5 |
| Jack, Queen, King | 11, 12, 13 | 12, 13, 14 |
| When you can call | Any turn | 10 or less, from your second turn |
| Wrong call | 40 points | 50 for each player at or below you |
| End of the game | Out at 200, last one standing wins | Ends when someone passes 300, lowest total wins |
Least Count, also called Least Score, is played across India, and house rules vary from table to table. In Claims you call it a claim, and hitting the target exactly sends you back to 0.
